The Richmond and Burnley Historical Society was established in 1972 through the initiative of the founder Mr Angus Wishart with the support of the Richmond City Council. The collections, photographs, resources and information that we have today are attributed to the effort, determination and commitment of those early members of the society and community. The prime objective of the Society is about collecting and preserving information and material about the history of Richmond, Burnley and Cremorne. Our holdings includes information, photographs, and publications about the people, buildings, homes, industries, schools, societies and groups who were all part of the development of Richmond.
