Cottage of Edward Toohey (died 1898) a Shire contractor and road maker. Ned, his son worked with Frederick Myers building many of the bluestone roads in the Shire of Melton. In the background is the brick house built for Martha Myers in 1967. Martha and husband Frederick (born 1877 in Melton) resided in the Myers (Miers) house on Western Highway beside the gully near Reserve road. Frederick lived there for 86 years. The house was built in 1867 by Henri and Ann nee Dowling Myers. Demolished 1968. Martha Myers house was demolished in 2011 to become a car park. Bricks from "Willis Vale' home of the Partington family of Greensborough. Built in 1840, Willis Vale was owned by the Partington family from 1878 to 1947. It was a 2 storey house overlooking the Plenty River and set in 150 acres of farmland. The Partingtons moved out in 1947 and the house was vandalised shortly after. It was destroyed by fire in the 1960s.The bricks are a link to pioneer homes and farms in the area.Hand made clay bricks, light red in colour. All faces are flat.. One brick is chipped. The girls came from all over Victoria and stayed for two weeks at Blamey House in Kew. Names provided with the photo: L-R Carol Farnham, Helen Rogers and Caroline Blackwell. At the time Legatee Bert Davis was CFO and his daughter Louise was asked to help with the running of the camp. Fanny Elizabeth nee Minns Parker, daughter of George Minns was born in Norfolk c.1808, married Nicholas Parker in Melton 1874. They had two sons, John Nicholas. Father Nicholas died circa 1877. Their second son George Minns Parker was born 31st December 1876. Fanny’s house contained external decorative features and corner stonework which was also used in the Willows House. Fanny died circa 1919 Fanny Parker was a friend of Ann Myers. Their sons were born in the same decade. The rate books show her as a dressmaker. The Samuel Wadham Wing was the second purpose-built accommodation building at International House at the University of Melbourne. The building was officially opened by Lord Richard Casey (1890–1976) on 23 March 1963.

This photograph shows a scene from the first play at International House, 'The Teahouse of the August Moon', staged in April-May 1964. The male roles were played by students, and the lead female role by University of Melbourne student Margaret Phua (pictured), as International House was yet to accept female residents. Booking was coordinated by the Ladies' Auxiliaries, and the play was deemed a 'great success', becoming a yearly International House tradition.performing arts, students

The Ballarat School of Mines opened in the former Ballarat Circuit Court House in 1870. The court house was demolished in 1915 to make way for the Ballarat Technical Art School. It is one of only two early buildings remaining in Melton's main shopping street, and the only nineteenth century building in the street.
