The Sunbury Swimming Club held their events at the Sunbury Swimming Club. The photograph was taken when railway land on either side of the tracks was used for recreational purposes and agricultural related activities. The bluestone 'road over rail' bridge at Macedon Street is of state architectural, architectural, historical and engineering significance. It spans the first government regional railway.
