Guides Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society conductors about their duties, ticket issuing, pay-ins sales etc. Was the first version of this document. Prepared by Peter Walker. The first version was issued 1/11/1989. see item 8875. Was collected from the depot 1/2001 when a new version of the Guidelines was issued. In use from c1990 to 2001 as a sample copy and loaned to new conductors. Document originally prepared by Peter Walker, who passed away 24/9/2005 - see Reg Item 6838 for Obituary.Demonstrates BTPS documentation for crew use.Folder containing in plastic sheets, the 1/5/1990 version of the Ballarat Vintage Tramway Operating Guidelines. The document is a photocopied version of "Issue 2 / 1.5.90" on yellow paper. It consists of 33 sheets which have been amended in a number of places to adjust for cash floats, fares, museum sales tin. Used by the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Co. to identify its employees, in this case from Richmond car house or depot. Used until about 1916 when replaced by badges marked for the Tramway Board.Demonstrates the method of identifying cable tram employees.Round pressed brass badge with the letters "M.T&O.Co. Rd 66". Yields information about the correspondence that was sent to various parties about the opening of tram tracks for underground services in Ballarat.Letter on SECV letterhead, "Ballarat Electricity Supply and Tramways", not dated, gives phone number, address, duplicated in blue ink, titled "Crossing Under Tramway Tracks", consisting of two foolscap sheets and one quarto sheet, pinned together in the top left hand corner. Would have been written as a base letter to go various bodies, has a Mr. Hornabrook's signature printed on it. Outlines the processes that have to be undertaken in order to install pipelines under tram tracks. Allows for Emergency installations, gives depths and installation requirements. The third sheet is an application form to install the service. Each have a cloth cover, covering two pieces of heavy card, with a metal eyelet in the bottom left hand corner, numbers, name of person available to, date of available to and signed by the "Secretary" printed on a separate sheets and glued to the inside. The conditions of travel also printed on a separate sheet and glue to the inside.
