The file contains a number of original files provenanced to the Judd family including a subdivision brochure of the Park Hill Estate (1916) that includes a map of the subdivision, an early photo of the ten-roomed house. Other primary sources include a seven page photocopy (& transcript) of notes on early Kew by Thomas Judd Jnr (1950). An undated letter accompanying the information refers to Miss Ina Balaam, the last descendant of the family to live in the house. The file also includes a photocopy of the obituary of Thomas Judd and a newspaper article/clipping from 1972, which includes a short history of the house and a photograph. This is a single large archive file, primarily comprised of Kew Council documents, a number of which date from an earlier period. Interesting early primary sources include: 1914 Amendments to the Local Government Act of 1903 [copy owned by Mr W.J. Muntz C.E.]; a Cleansing Contract [for the removal of night-soil] (1913); an Annual Statement of Accounts (1923); and By-Law No.66 (1939) [relating to the “Erection Construction and Removal of Buildings, Advertising Signs, Etc.”; and the Councillor’s Handbook (1939). Fairyland, when owned by the Tabulos was a noted local, state, national and international tourist attraction. The grandparents of the historian Dorothy Rogers had originally owned the house. The file contains a copy of Rogers’ history of the house. The file also contains sundry newspaper articles/clippings, correspondence between KHS and the City of Boroondara relating to heritage protection, personal email correspondence (not for distribution), poetry, research documents including timelines, and colour and black and white photographs (donated by Betty Morgan, Matt Dickerson, et al). Primary sources included in the file include photocopies of Jim Tabulo’s War records and Jim and Grace Tabulo’s wedding certificate.
