Woollen jumper / pullover / jersey made for the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society, mid 1980's featuring No. 26 and the words "Ballarat Vintage Tramway" embroidered onto the jumper. Both jumpers have full length sleeves. Two colours - red - size 16, just with label. Green - size 18 with a washing instructions label and a manufacturing label, "Unlimited Motifs", To fit Size 100 Chest 100cm / Pure New Wool (with the logo) and Made in Australia". Note: Green one taken by Dave O'Neil, pending return of an older green one at time of cataloguing. Legal document within a light brown manila document - titled "Coburg Tramway Employees Band / Re Loan to the Band of sum of L300" 300 Pounds, Contains: 1 - Memo dated 20/6/1919 listing the instruments and that they were in good order along with the serial numbers. Signed by the Stores Clerk - F. Wraith. 2 - List of instruments purchased with the loan, Serial numbers and Manufacturer. Signed by F. Wraith as Treasurer, F. Keane? as Secretary and W. F. Allen as Bandmaster. 3. Agreement typed, dated 6/7/1918 between the MBCTT and the Coburg Electric Tramways Band, to be repaid at 50 pounds per annum. Signed and sealed by each of the 20 members. Provides a fillable form for use by Revenue Clerks and Conductors the various denomination and type of tickets, Commencing and Closing Numbers, No. issued, value, no of unsold tickets, Through tickets, and other information. Has a printer's reference number and year in the bottom right hand - 1892-56. Not known if this was for use on the last section of tramway route prior to closure - further research required. Photocopies of letters copied by Alan from the City of Ballarat's files. 1801.1 - Photocopy of letter dated 23/9/1921, signed by Mr. Pringle of ESCo to Col. G.F. Morton, City Clerk of the City of Ballaarat concerning the increase of tramway fares and the withdrawal of tokens due to the increase in costs. Gives details of fare structures, costs, tramway wages, section changes, American and English tramway fares and increase in the cost of coal. Three sheets stapled together in top left hand corner. 1801.2 - Photocopy of letter dated 23/7/1913 concerning the introduction of one man tramcars, signed by Mr. Pringle of ESCo, to Col. Williams, City Clerk of the City of Ballarat, and the introduction of celluloid tokens which would replace slip tickets and work better in the Fare Boxes. Booklet - 38 pages, printed on off white page, centre stapled, titled "Directory and Tramway Guide issued by the Hawthorn Tramways Trust", specifically advertising Wattle Park and showing Princes Bridge and the Yarra on the front cover and a photo of Hawthorn depot on the rear cover. Gives details of Wattle Park, its opening, many photos, members of the Trust, Engineer and Manager and Acting Secretary, Stopping points for the round and fares to Wattle Park, section fares, maps of the tram routes and connections with other tramways and railway stations. Has timetables for Burnley and other major points, special and emergency services, the coloured lights used on the trams, and a map for land sales at Riversdale Heights estate. Advertisements for Mutual stores, Melbourne Electric Supply Co., Moule, Hamilton and Kindle for the sale of land at Riversdale Heights and a map showing the estate location. Both copies have alterations or corrections to the route signage letters - marked in red - from the Minutes of the HTT Board meetings, the Trust were not happy with the finished product and was reluctant to pay for them - see Minutes of Meeting No. 99 of 5-7-1918. Only the top page has been imaged. .1 - 21 page (top page loose), "The Town of Essendon and The Borough of Flemington and Kensington with A. E. Morgans Esq Agreement" dated 26/9/1904, sets out routes, gauge, motive power, maximum speed, safety, tolls and charges, use, power house, default and various responsibilities. Last page has signature details. .2 - 8 pages bound with a clip, marked "A", dated 26/9/1904, Agreement of Delegation of Morgan's rights to the North Melbourne Electric Tramways and Lighting Co. Ltd. .3 - 15 page bound with a clip, marked "B" dated 26/9/1906, (1904?) agreement of Delegation of Morgan's rights for the transfer of order under Electric Light and Power Act 1896. Dated by the Governor Arthur Talbot 24/10/1904. .4 - 22 pages, bound with a clip, marked "C" copy of agreement annexed to the Deed of Covenant for the purposes of identification. .5 - 7 pages secured with a pin - "Extraction the Government Gazette May 11 1904 - Tramways in the Town of Essendon and Borough of Flemington and Kensington" .6 - approx. 30 pages cotton bound - copies of various Indentures and Covenants between the parties and approved by the Governor in Council. .7 - 9 pages, Deed of Covenant marked "D" between NMETL, A E Morgans, the City of Essendon and the City of Melbourne dated 21/6/1906, refers to the Tramway Act of 1890. Report by the Victorian Parliamentary Public Works Committee on "The Plenty Road, Preston, Tramway Extension Inquiry" - 1967. The inquiry examined the MMTB's proposal to extend the East Preston line 0.7miles or 1.3km. The Committee took evidence from the MMTB, bus operators, the Victorian Railways, residents, La Trobe University, Preston City Council and others. The Committee recommended against the proposal. The report lists those members of Parliament involved. The line was subsequently extended by 1.2 kilometres from Tyler Street to Boldrewood Parade during 1983 and subsequently to Bundoora.
