This bookmark may have belonged to, and was possibly made by, Miss Mary Leviny, the eldest of the Leviny sisters, who was a founding member of the Castlemaine Red Cross. This bookmark was found in the book 'Half Mile Down' by William Blake (Reg. No. 1081).A rare, intact memento of Australia Day in the form of a gum leaf made into bookmark. It was possibly sold as a fundraiser for the newly formed Red Cross in Castlemaine to aid the war efforts abroad during World War One.Hand-paInted bookmark made from a gum (eucalyptus) leaf. P Gum leaf with stem. Inscribed in white "Australia Day/1915" and painted with a red cross. Newspaper clipping contained within Reg. Item 1650, page 5, from the Courier 11/5/1993 with the Heritage Column, about horse trams and the building of them. Has a reproduction of the photograph of the workmen who assembled Horse Tram No. 1 in front of the Wendouree Parade Depot - See Reg. Item No. 765. Built by Duncan and Fraser From information given by R. Kellett identifies a number of people around the tram: These are George Fraser, Peter Hadgetts, George Barnett, Moyce and Lang blacksmiths, Nichols, Gaston, Buckley, George Armstrong, John Cameron, Si Barker, W. Skewes as carpenters. Additional name - from Doug Bunker, Victor Harbor horse tram - person with one knee up is a painter, person lying in front of tram - a Mr. Carmichael. Ticket wallet with a set of four 1970's Ballarat tram tickets set up to represent part of a typical conductor's set of tickets by the BTM for display purposes.. 74.1 - Sheet of leather, approx. 2mm thick, stained brown with four pockets formed on each side with another sheet of leather, stitched on all sides to form pockets to hold eight blocks of tickets. Stitching is a light brown cotton with nickel plated steel staples at each end. Stamped "W 98" onto one side. 74.2 - 5c City section ticket block - A375800 - 375999 - See Reg. Complements the collection of air flight crew attire 1969-1972.Shirley Boles was an air hostess with ANA in the early days of Ansett. Shirley has made a considerable contribution of items to the Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum. She was a popular staff member who worked for many years with the company.Beige coloured pillbox hat , with flat crown and straight, upright sides. Turned up brim featuring peaked detail on one side. Piped edging. Heavy-duty poly-cotton (?) fabric with reinforcing stitching. Fawn grosgrain ribbon interfacing inside. Cream bemsilk lining.
