It was originally called "Emu Bottom" when the Evans family owned the property and re-named "Emu Bottom" when Hedly Elliot acquired it in the 1960s.A mounted black and white photograph of "Holly Green". Steel hand rail from stone steps at house 3/4 recovered from grass near "Eastern Landing" in 2000.Steel tube shaped length bent at middle and curved at one end. 12 metal dowells attached to this rail, but unattached at end. Varying lengths. Rusted with some white paint residue.

Diamond House Stawell. This unique house was built by John Hearne between 1866-1868 using white quartz stone gathered on Church Hill opposite. Mr. Hearne showed considerable skill and patience in construction as the stones had to be carefully cut & fitted into uniformity which has lasted 130 years. Its is said not a nail was used. On 17th January 1856, two acres of land was granted for the building of a school and church on that site in Macedon Street. A small temporary building was erected on the site and on 13th December 1864 the foundation stone was laid for the new stone church which was known as 'Our Lady of Mount Carmel'. The Beasley family lived on the outer region of Ballarat on the road to Buninyong. It is thought the Beasley's were a family of miners. Twelve people and a dog stand outside a weatherboard house with shingle roof. A chimney to the left appears to be of stone construction, and two window include 6 window panes each.
