Object. Black wooden mantle clock with pendulum bob made in U.S.A by the Sessions Clock Company, mounted on ornate metal feet, and decorated with four columns supporting Gothic arches, with torch like ornamentation between them and an ornate handle on each end. Round white enamel dial with black numerals & hands, a brass bezel with convex glass. 8 day running with gong strike on hour & half hour. Furniture - Small wooden stool
Very old hand-made wooden stool 47 centimetres long, 14 centimeters wide and 19 centimetres high. The top is one and a half centimeters thick. The two sides are made from one centimetres thick wood and are 47 centimetres long tapering to 36 centimeters and seven centimeters wide. The two ends are 17 centimetres long, 14 centimetres wide and two centimetres thick, it checked out to fit into the sides of the stool, there are two centimetre notches cut into the bottom which create the impression of legs. Decorative object - Two small tables
Two small identical wooden tables that are 17 centimetres high, 34 centimetres long and 21 centimetres wide. One is painted green, the other has a clear timber finish. The legs are two and a half centimetre square at the top tapering to one and a half centimetre. Pieces of wood one centimetre by three centimetres secure the legs to the underside of the table. A one centimetre by a half centimetre wooden bead is attached to the underside of the table between the legs and the edge of the table. woodwork, small table -

Decorative object - Display Pedestal
A wooden construction of three pieces. The lower piece is eleven centimetres square and two centimetres high, there's a one centimetre right angle edge then angled two centimetre long and rising one centimetre section, then there's half centimetre high and seven centimetre square flat section. The middle piece nineteen centimetres high and four centimetres square at the bottom tapering to three centimetres square at the top, each side has two eleven centimetre groves in it that start and finish four centimetres from each end. The upper piece is a smaller inverted copy of the lower piece, it has four centimetre square attached to the middle piece and an eight centimetre flat square on top. Negative - Bendigo Munitions Factory (ADI) Glass Slides, Australian Defence Industries (Now THALES AUSTRALIA), c1944
The Bendigo Ordnance Factory began operating in 1942, producing heavy artillery and naval guns. In the late 1990s the then Federal Government-owned facility was sold to the multinational Thales, which continues to operate the factory today. This Bendigo Historical Society collection of glass negatives includes some slides of women working in the munitions factory. Seven slides were included in an album that was prepared for Dr Edith Summerskill who visited Australia in 1944 as part of an Empire Parliamentary Delegation. The album included photographs of Australian women working at the factory during WW2. A copy of the album is in the Collection of the Australian War Memorial.Box 1 of 3, Glass Slide Negatives of the Bendigo Munitions Factory, later known as the Ordnance Factory and then the Australian Defence Industries. Each negative is sealed between two pieces of glass. The edges are sealed with thin pieces of tape. Weapon - Painted Wooden Truncheon
III GR on the top of the truncheon refers to King George the Third (r. 1760-1820). The truncheon was probably used by police during his reign.A heavy wooden truncheon 66 centimetres long and three centimetres diameter. There is a hole two centimetres from the top to put a lanyard through. The top seven centimetres is painted red with lettering (roman numeral 3) GR. The next nine centimetres is painted green with a gold and red crown painted on it. The next six centimetre section is yellow with gold lettering, G.P.A. and 1797 underneath. Weapon - Metal Capped Wooden Truncheon
A tapered wooden baton that is 38 centimetres long. It is three centimetres diameter at the top and two centimetres diameter at the 11 centimetre long handle section. The handle has black string wrapped around it and a hole halfway with a broken leather lanyard in it. There is a one and a half centimetre wide metal strip around the end. A lightweight wooden baton 51 centimetres long, one and a half centimetres diameter at one end tapering to half a centimetre at the other. The thicker end has a metal cap and a one centimetre wide leather strip wound around it for ten centimetres of the baton. Sign - Hudson's Extract of Soap sign
Robert Spear Hudson (d. 1884) invented the first dry soap powder in 1837 and called it extract of soap. Following his death the company was taken over by his son and later (1908) sold to Lever Bros. a subsidiary of Uni lever. Small gold balance scales in wooden case. The case is inlaid with black velvet cloth with spaces for the balance and weights. There are 2 gm weights, one 5 one 10 gm and a 2 oz in their spaces in the case. There is also one penny weight, a two penny and a 200mg. They were advertised for sale in Bendigo in 1898 for 4 shillings a pair and in 1914 they were priced at 4/6 (4 shillings and sixpence). They were sold by various ironmongers. By 1904 Mr E R McMartin was the manager and licensee of the Shamrock Hotel including the Shamrock Tobacconist that had previously been owned and run by Mr Karl Van Damme.Dark brown pipe cover in shape of pipe, leather exterior and textured cream fabric interior, with hinge at smoke exit end of pipe and small metal latch at bottom of pipe tube. Red sticker on inside of cover reads "Shamrock tobacco Store E.R. Leisure object - Skittles
Skittles was a game of European origin maybe as early as the 4th or 5th century and became popular in England in the 14th century. Many Bendigo hotels included Skittle Alley's and some early mentions of these include Epsom in 1856. Teams could even play for monetary prizes. Although generally considered an indoor game, skittles also made appearances at outings such as picnics and race meetings.2 Wooden skittles with knob at the top.
