Colour photograph of Ballarat No. 18, painted in Gold for the Centenary of the discovery of Gold in Sebastopol in 1864 at the Lydiard St. North terminus during 1964. Tram has destination of 'Sebastopol', head lights and marker lights turned ready for departure from the terminus. Sides painted in Gold, with white around windows and roof, and lettering in red paint. TMSV photograph. On Agfa paper. Copy made Oct. 2001 for the "gold, Gold GOLD" temporary exhibition - colour laser print onto card, with Velcro dots on rear. Stored in box D1 (Display Box) 02/2003. Photo of Ballarat No. 18 photographed alongside MMTB AEC Regal Mk III bus, No. 543 (42 seats) (Reg. No. HJG 543). No. 18 has a specially painted board over the front of the tram "60th Anniversary / Electric Trams / 1905 Ballarat 1965". Standing between the tram and Bus are Les Denmead, D. Irvine, J. Dowd and T. Young. Both vehicles showing "Special" and standing on Ballarat depot fan. Photo also appears in "MMTB News", Oct - Nov. 1965, Reg. Item 2719.7. Dave Macartney advised 19/11/01 that other the other official guests at the event was Mr. F. K. White, Manager Ballarat SEC. Also attending was W.J. K. Dunstan.
