Stephen George henty, M.L.C. The first white woman in Portland, the earliest permanent settlement in the State of Cictoria, Australia. Born at Stokesley, 8th February 1817, daughter of Captain Walter Pace. Landed at Portland, June 1836. Died at Hamilton, Victoria, 3rd February 1906.
