Students attended Sunday School classes at the Kergunyah Presbyterian Church. Sunday school was held in a little 16 foot square wooden building which came from Rocky Valley after it was no longer needed there. Ewen Wallace's father initiated and organised the move. C2011 the building was knocked down because of white ants. Caroline Elizabeth Newcomb (1812 - 1874) woman squatter. Born in London and emigrated to Hobart Town in 1833. She went to Port Phillip in 1836 as governess to the children of John Batman. She met Anne Drysdale in Geelong and they set up a farming partnership. Caroline Newcomb joined the Wesleyan Methodist Society in 1839 and became the first secretary of the Methodist Church at Drysdale, founded in 1849. After Anne's death in in 1853 she continued to run the Coryule property. On 27 November 1861 she married Wesleyan minister the Rev James Davy Dodgson. She died at Brunswick on 3 October 1874. A vintage early 1800's brown hardcover children's book with the title The Adventures of a Three Guinea Watch printed in gold diagonal letter on the front cover with a black lined illustration of two boys playing with a fob watch sitting inside a large barrel. The spine has the title and RTS symbol for the publisher printed in gold lettering. The back cover has a black lined drawing of a boy reading a book in front of a bookcase with the heading: THE BOYS OWN BOOKSHELF printed in a banner above. There are flowers and butterflies too. The frontispiece illustration depicts a woman and a man with a boy in football clothes talking. It is covered with faded tissue paper. The title page has the title, author, publisher details and the same black lined illustration as is featured on the back cover. Throughout the book are many black lined illustrations. At the back is page of further Books for Boys published by The Religious Tract Society. The author,Talbot Baines Reed wrote school stories for boys. 'Ivory?' Chisel. Approximately 10cm long. One end is sharpened and flattened, the other is carved to form a 12-sided shape. Each end is separated by a circular stem approx. 2cm in diameter.
