After the closure of the Alexander Theatre at Monash University last year Whitehorse Council decided to stage shows that would otherwise pass Melbourne by. It has launched its own first professional theatre season at Whitehorse Centre in Nunawading. The 20th anniversary revival of David Williamson's 'The Department' will make Whitehorse its only Melbourne stop on its national tour.
