Reverend Arthur Preston (14/10/1912 - 19/03/1985) was born in Brisbane. Following ordination he served in Mareeba and Townsville, Superintendent of West End Methodist Mission in Brisbane, Associate Minister at Adelaide Central Mission, Associate Minister in the Glen Iris Circuit and was appointed Superintendent of the Central Methodist Mission in 1968. Vietnam eraM1 steel helmet used by the United States military from WWII to 1985. Painted textured finish light olive green. The rim edge has a crimped metal band running around it, with a rear seam. Mounted on each side of the helmet there are D shaped swiveled metal loops for a chinstrap. The adjustable chinstrap is made of olive drap coloured nylon webbing with blackened metal clips. Bruce Ludeman, a business broker, auctioneer and property manager, is President of the Otway Division of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria and received a Presidents Award in 2012 for services to the real estate industry in the Western District. This envelope is of minor interest as an example of the type of business envelope used today in the real estate businesses in Warrnambool. This is a business-type white envelope with a see-through insert to show the address. It is self-sealing. This is the MINJAH telephone exchange testing unit. The exchange was adjacent to the property of MINJAH which is situated near Hawkesdale in Western Victoria. The exchange operated between 1955 and 1985. The testing unit was used for detecting and testing faults in the telephone system. The keys along the front were called "Hospital Keys" and were used to give subscribers a temporary connection in the event of a break down. The telephone exchange was replaced by an automatic exchange.This is a good example of a manual telephone system in Western VictoriaThis is a rectangular polished wooden box with a telephone mechanism on the side connected by a hook. On the front right is a dialling system which has been detached. On the front left is a volt meter. At the front bottom are seventeen switches.
