Also eight more colour photographs taken of same house showing various aspects of building. 05007.1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, .7, .8 The old Church House served the Bruthen community in 1880s when no longer required it was barged to the New Works area where it became Church and meeting hall. By the time the Entrance work was completed the contractor J R Coate had the building moved to Church Street Lakes Entrance. It was a home for various local families until abandoned then acquired by Val Northrope. After renovation by Val in Lakes Entrance it was moved again to a site beside the Northropes new home near Bruthen.Colour photograph of timber cottage surrounded by picket fence four women at gateway. Sawbridgeworth was built in 1887 by Arthur Wiseman. The house was named after the little English village in Hertfordshire where the Wisemans had lived for hundreds of years. Arthur's brother, Albert, built his mansion, called Ashleigh, which also fronted Widford Street. Biography of Henry Hannington who was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland on 17 March 1819 and died in Ballarat at his residence in Crompton Street, Soldiers Hill on 1 January 1893 aged 73 years. Henry married Jane Crabb in the Independent Church in Melbourne in 1853. Jane died in Ballarat on the 23 January 1887,. Henry Hannington had various occupations including Shepherd, Miner, Trooper and Bricklayer.
