A legatee function in Legacy House with Bruce Ruxton as a guest speaker. It is assumed to be 1991 as Legatee John Sullivan appears to be presenting a plaque to Mr Ruxton. L/ Sullivan was president in 1991. The plaque signifies that Mr Ruxton was made 'Guest of Honour' which is the highest accolade awarded to guests. A legatee function in Legacy House with President David Ford. It is assumed to be 2003 as David Ford appears to be President. David Cull is on the far left, other names unknown. For many years Legatees would meet every Tuesday for a lunch and spend time together. Often there were guest speakers that would speak on a wide variety of subjects. The photo shows a room full of Legatees. The venue, date and names are unknown. Legatees met for many reasons including weekly comradeship luncheons with guest speakers. In the early days meetings were held at places like the Phairs Hotel, and Victoria Coffee Palace. The photo appears in Blatchford's history of Melbourne Legacy with the caption: Melbourne Legacy Club Weekly Luncheon, September 1932.Legatees met up for comradeship meetings and functions. The article says "On that day representative from Widows Clubs and groups from throughout Victoria are together for a seminar - guest speakers covered a wide-ranging agenda.
