Souvenir Teaspoon featuring Ballarat tram No. 26 in a round inset at the top of the tea spoon, contained within a plastic case. The teaspoon made by Perfection Plate, of the Caprice style or type. The case has yellow plastic base, with clear top with the words "Caprice by Perfection" On the rear of the case is the wording "Perfection". The teaspoon is silver plated, with the tram in a picture 22mm round. The teaspoon is marked "Caprice" on the rear. Tea spoon is 116mm long x 25mm wide. Case is 125mm high, 32mm wide, by 16mm deep. Black and white photo of Queen Victoria, in profile, wearing official robes (with insignia VR) and a lace cap surmounted by a small crown. Head and shoulders only. She is surrounded by a wreath of fern leaves. The photo is a souvenir, produced by Albert Bush, whose photo is in the lower rh corner, also with a fern surround. To the left of him, is a photo of his corner store, with workers in the street at front (eighteen people). In front of the store is also a horse and carriage and a horse drawn wagon loaded with bags of produce (wheat?). The triple photos are a souvenir for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 1897 and also an advertisement for Albert Bush's Grocery Store.topic -

Silk postcard from France written by unknown WW1 soldier from Milawa addressed to Mrs G Kittle/Kettle c/- Post Office Milawa. WW1 service records reveal Charles James KETTLE 29741 was born in Milawa and enlisted on 15/4/1916 aged 39 years. He embarked on the 3/10/1916 and served in France prior to being diagnosed with a tumour and whilst being repatriated home died on 10/8/1917 and was buried at sea. Listed place of association was Wangaratta. Embroidered silk postcards were first made in 1900 for the Paris Exposition. The popularity of silk postcards peaked during the First World War 1914 - 1918.They were mostly embroidered by French women in their homes and then sent to the factories for cutting and mounting on cards. Many of the cards were illustrated with patriotic symbols, flags, slogans, or sentimental texts. RFDS was begun by Reverend John Flynn as an aerial Medical Service out of Cloncurry, Queensland in 1928. By 1934 it had expanded across outback Australia. Cobb and Co. was a stagecoach line transporting diggers between the gold fields. There were many coach lines but there names were generalised to "Cobb and Co.
