Photograph shows the front of the MMTB Head Office, at 616 Little Collins St. Has Savoy Hotel, next door in the view. The MMTB built the building in 1937. It was occupied by the MMTB and then The Met until 1989. It was sold in 1994 and converted into apartments. The two pieces of laminate show the different shades used by the MMTB in their vehicles, both trams and buses. Used by Kew tram depot to indicate to Inspectors and other staff the allocated run or timetable trip for a particular service. Was displayed in both driver's windows of a tram.Demonstrates a MMTB Run Number plate used on both trams and buses.Run Number steel sheet with corners trimmed and rounded, two holes for hanging, with an off-white background and the letter "K" and number "82" painted in red. Uniform - Coat Button/s, Stokes and Sons, K.G. Luke Australasia, 1970s?
Set of five nickel silver MMTB Coat buttons. Three of the buttons (approx. 22mm dia) are made by Stokes and Sons Melbourne and the two (approx. 25mm dia) are made by K. G. Luke Australasia. The badge backing piece is brass. It is fitted with a lug for sewing onto a jacket and have name of manufacturer stamped on rear part.
