Photos of Legacy Widows at a luncheon function after the Widows Sunday ceremony at the Shrine and a service at a church. This is an annual event for Legacy widows at the start of Legacy Week, which is the first week in September. The photos show tables of widows at lunch, the Governor of Victoria, John Landy, and his wife, Lynn (in deep maroon suit), are in some of the photos talking to the ladies. Melbourne Legacy Widows' Club president Margaret Armstrong is standing near the Governor in some photos. President Geoff Webb is also talking to the widows. Manufactured by P Blashki and Sons, this mayoral chain is made of Stirling silver with a 22ct gold plate finish. The chain consists of 10 links at the back of the chain joined by two shoulder bars with 12 links on the inside front section and the balance of 14 links either side of the coat of arts. Marjorie Morgan noticed a beautiful wood carving of gumleaves and gumnuts by John Blogg. The carving, donated by a Box Hill resident, is in the impressive art collection of the City of Whitehorse. The more Marjorie researched the more she felt his achievements should not be permitted to disappear into the mists of time.
