Significance

Bruce Armstrong a significant Australian Artist known for his large scale interpretations of fanciful birds and creatures often making reference to indigenous motifs and totems in ways often shied away from by others. Making use of locally sourced materials to reflect the nature and spirit of place and the spaces his works are designed to be situated.

Physical description

Nestled on the banks of the Maribyrnong River on a timber cradle Every Bird sits as if waiting for chicks to hatch. Large, approximately 4 M in length and 1.5 M High the carved body is almost boat like in form, the painted surface resembles the plumage of a seagull.
