Daily diary kept by B. Kirkwood from 16 December 1945 to 24 August 1947. At back of diary are two pages of production notes for 1936 and 1937. Book with yellow pages and black cover. Pencil and pen were used for entries.

Historical information

This was a diary kept by B. Kirkwood, one of the men employed by Frank Lebbell Frost to assist him in his beekeeping.

Metal honey tin with metal handle and lid. Front label; "Finest Honey for your daily Diet" "NET WEIGHT 3Kg" Two notices on label, first notice; "Honey is an ideal breakfast food" second notice is a general statement on use of honey.

Historical information

Honey tins were made to industry standards, and beekeepers bought tins from manufacturers. One of the largest manufacturers was Pender Bros, based in Maitland NSW. When a customer had emptied a tin, they returned it to the beekeeper when they went to buy more honey.
