About

The Frankston RSL Sub Branch had its origins in 1919 when the club was founded by servicemen returning from the "Great War". The Sub Branch was chartered in January 1920 and since that time club members have accumulated a modest collection of historical military items donated by ex-service personnel, member's families, local community and military sources. The collection continues to grow and includes items such as letters, documents, diaries, badges, medals, uniforms, weapons, souvenirs, photographs and artworks spanning the period from Australian Federation to the present era.

Frankston RSL Sub Branch also houses a comprehensive library of military histories in printed book and audio visual formats.

This memorabilia collection is displayed in the clubrooms and is regularly changed to commemorate events in Australian military history and thus honour the service and sacrifices of Australian defence personnel, past and present.

Note that not all collection items are on display at any point in time.
