Address, Illuminated - Mr. & Mrs. Henry A. Dickson

South Gippsland Shire Council, Leongatha

Illuminated address presented to Mr. & Mrs. Henry A. Dickson. Dated 14 August 1929. This address was presented on the occaison of the Dickson's departure from the Dumbalk District. It was presented by the residents in appreciation of their valuable services to the community during their 38 years in residence. Presented in a decorative hinged card folder. Features painted flowers, trees and a country scene of a farm with cattle in the foreground.

Album

South Gippsland Shire Council, Leongatha

Chinese book set in album case. The set of three books are printed in Chinese in red and black ink. They include text and illustrations printed on lightweight paper. The books have a yellow covers and are stitched at the spine. The album is made of firm card and is covered in a patterned silken fabric with handmade bone and fabric hinges.

Bell, Dinner

Brass dinner bell mounted on polished wood board. The bell features a white cord attached to the central ringer. the bell is fixed to the wood mount board with a brass bracket and brass bolts.

Board, Decorated - Daisy Chain Group

Decorated board presented to the Korumburra Shire by Daisy Chain Group students and Sieko from Japan in 1992. Features a fabric Japanese Girl dressed in a red and gold costume playing with a ball. Set on glossy gold card. The card is signed on the back by seven students.

SGSC Australia Day Award Recipeint's honour board. Brown polished wood board featuring four columns detailing the Year, Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and the Community Event. Painted in gold and black.

Set of four honour boards and one plaque dedicated as a memorial to those who served in two world wars. The wooden plaque which is featured in the centre of the four boards features raised lettering. Three boards are dedicated to those who served in the 1914-1918 war and the fourth board is dedicated to those who served in the 1939-1945 war. Names and initials are placed in alphabetical order

Boat, Miniature

South Gippsland Shire Council, Leongatha

Handcarved miniature wooden Chinese junk. Made from dark polished wood the sailing boat features a carved dragon head and tail and three masts with sails rigged with gold thread. A small chinese hut is on the forward deck. A red ribbon bow is tied to the top of each mast.

Frame decorative Chinese bowl with dragon design. Black and gold bowl in black and gold window mount with brown wood frame. The frame is edged in gold and the mount features a decorative lace design in each corner. Red and white text label printed in Chinese.

Sculptured bowl made by Ann Parry; winner of the Welshpool Art & Craft Show 2004. The bowl is created in various shades of blue with cream frothy lining the base. Features sculptured shells and shaped pieces affixed to sides. Silver trim in parts.

World War I. Roll of Honour. Independant Order of the Rechabites. Framed coloured certificate set in brown wood frame. The certificate lists the members of the Supplejack Tent No.401 Dumbalk who have volunteered for "Active Service in response to the Empire's Call." Names handwritten in black ink. The border is decorated with coloured flowers and flags and the images of King George V, the Minister for Defence and the first Australian soldier to win a VC.

Polished timber meeting desk with SGSC logo on front. The desk is the central part of a set used in Council meetings in the main Chambers at Leongatha. The brown wood desk features the Council's carved logo affixed to front. The logo is created from four varieties of timber.
