This pavilion is a major feature of the Ballarat Botanic Gardens and is unique in Victoria and possibly Australia.Previously unknown image of Ballarat. The set and its subjects indicate these images were produced to promote Ballarat and were perhaps aimed at tourists.The Statuary Pavilion, erected in 1887, houses classically derived sculptures donated to the city by Mr James Russell Thompson.
