Historical information

The photograph was taken by George Silk on Christmas Day 1942 near Buna, Papua New Guinea. George Silk was a War Photographer for Australian Government, his appointment began in 1939. He was in New Guinea with the AIF when this photograph was taken.

Significance

The photograph shows the work and assistance of the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels to Australian Servicemen who were Serving in Papua New Guinea during WW2.
