Article in the Canterbury issue of Nunawading Gazette about the severance of Box Hill from the Shire of Blackburn and Mitcham in 1925. In December, 1925 the Shire of Nunawading became the Borough of Box Hill which in turn was proclaimed a city in 1927. The name 'Nunawading' was revived in 1945 when the Shire of Blackburn and Mitcham, including the district of Nunawading (Tunstall) was itself proclaimed a city.
