Physical description

Block mounted, black and white (sepia toned) photo of Ballarat Horse Tram No. 1 outside the Wendouree Parade depot, late 1887, with 16 workmen standing or lying around the tramcar. Builders Photo. Tram is lettered "BALLAARAT TRAMWAY CO LIMITED". A sign on the advertising board says "Duncan & Fraser, Builders, Ballaarat". The men around the tram are dressed in trade clothes, including carpenters, painters and blacksmiths.



Mounted on to preprinted card with a printed border and along the bottom edge "Richards & Co." and "Photo".

3042.1 - Same photo, but in better condition. Has "Richards & Co Photo" on stamped on left hand side and has a red border similar to the Reg. Item 3042, but has been cut around it.
