See above. Deane was one of three local winners of the Gift. Heath in 1933 and Patrick Breen in 1894.

Used in Nagambie by 1933 Stawell Gift winner, Goldie Heath, while training 1946 winner, Tommy Deane. Then by Heath in 1947 while training 1947 contender, Les Pianter.
Heath, Deane and Pianta were Nagambie locals. Les Pianta accidentally shot himself in a shooting accident so failed to start. The Pianta family were involved in cycling and it seems the watch may have been presented to the newly formed club by Goldie Heath.
Chrome pocket stop-watch with minute and second dials. Crown and side switch. Cord looped through crown ring.

These spikes were worn by Goldie Heath at Stawell in 1933. They were also used by Tommy Deane when training, but as too large they were “tied around with a bit of bike tube”

1933 Stawell Gift winner, Cyril ‘Goldie’ Heath later trained the 1946 winner, Tommy Deane, on an island in Lake Nagambie, lending him his spikes.
