The home belonged to the Brennan Family from its beginnings in the 1920s until c. 1980. Thomas William Brennan, MLC was a teacher, then a journalist and solicitor before becoming a politician. Number "0189", printed on Edmondson pasteboard card, with the name "Australian Railway Historical Society" and ticket number pre printed, and the words "BALLARAT TRAM TOUR 25-2-67", stamped in black ink using a hand stamp. Ceremonial object - Commemorative Trowel
The foundation stone of the New Wesleyan Church, Were Street, Brighton, Victoria was laid by Mrs W P Wells, the wife of the Superintendent of the Brighton Circuit and President of the Victorian Wesleyan Conference in 1887. The foundation stone was temporarily removed in the late 1930s and the 1937 publication "Were Street Jubilee" details the "proposed Jubilee Church". The same trowel was used when the stone was re-laid in 1955 at the beginning of the construction on the new church. S060.1 Silver commemorative trowel with a bone handle. The front and back both have inscriptions. The front has heavily engraved decoration. S060.2: Presentation box for S060.1. Was attached on donation to item 1847, with a pin in top left hand corner. Separated for storage. See image file for arrangement on donation. Note: Later review by D. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.1726 - Block of 200 tickets - purple ink on off white paper, denomination 7c, lettered A077400 to A 077599, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways and letters "CITY SECTION" on either side of the ticket, rather than section marks. On rear in purple ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. The 200 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket.
