Each book has a place for a photo inside The MULLER Brothers. Two of the three boys photos are in the book, Albert & Edgar. They All came from Nhill Victoria. The fliers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire operating on the Serbian and Russian fronts were fortunate at first, finding themselves faced by small numbers of aircraft yet more obsolescent than their own. Serbia fell in 1915, but when Italy declared war the Austro-Hungarians were still faced with a two-front war ' a static front against Italy, and a far more fluid one against Russia. It is written specially for the officers and seamen of our Mercantile Marine, and I have endeavoured to avoid such a criticism as the following:—“Heaps about other ships, but my old barkey was one of the fastest and best known of them all and he dismisses her with a line or two.” I have made rather a point of giving passage records, as they are an everlasting theme of interest when seamen get together and yarn about old ships. The memory is notoriously unreliable where sailing records are concerned, so I have been most careful to check these from logbooks and Captains’ reports. Even Lloyd’s I have found to be out by a day or two on occasions. A great deal of my material has been gathered bit by bit through the past 25 or 30 years. On inside back cover is a map with the places of interest and tram route map, marked in red. Pages are un-numbered. Original published by Ballarat East Town Council and Ballaarat City Council. On cover has number stamped in black in, "No. 87" (assume facsimile copy No.). Photos with publication show tram No. 21, built 1913 and ESCo photo page shows Mr. Pringle as Manager. Mr Pringle became manager in January 1911, As there is no photos of the "Avenue of Honour", or other mention of the first world war, assume original published about 1913 or 1914.
