MMTB decal - "Please step inside" for the use on the exterior of tramcars, glued transfer adhered to a sheet of gloss paper on one side and plain on the other with the transfer instructions made by Selex Decal in the 1970's, with alignment marks on the rear. Has the Selex Decal logos on the rear and the number "098051751" along the bottom edge. Refer to MMTB Drawing R10-138 for a drawing. Banner
The letters of the completed banner were made by different churches within in the presbytery and spelled a sentence, presumably "BUILD YOUR CHURCH LORD!" Orbost was one of the churches that had the finished banner on display. One of 24 small banners with tabs at the top of each for hanging on a rod. 19 have large blue letters appliqued on them. Twenty two of the banners are roughly square and two are smaller and oblong. Three have no letters and are used as spacers in the four word sentence that the letters make. Enlisted 28.6.1940 as VX40780 age 24 years 5 months, embarked for the Middle East 5.2.1941, embarked for Australia 17.2.1942, disembark 17.3.1943, he marries Margaret Brennan, his record has the date of marriage listed 25.5.1942 Embark for New Guinea 13.5.1942, appointed Lance Bombadier 28.8.1942, hospital 3.7.1943 with Malaria/Dengue Fever, rejoin unit 27.7.1943, appointed Bombadier 3.10.1943 embark for Australia from Buna per HMAT Duntroon 28.11.1943, reported missing presumed dead on 30.11.1943. A Court of enquiry held on board ship 1.12.1943 concluded that between the hours of 0600-0930 he left the ship without authority on 30.11.1943 The day before bing the 29th the Duntroon collided with an American Destroyer (USS Perkins) at 0200 hrs cutting it in half. One of a group of signs that were fitted into tramcars in Ballarat, giving instructions to passengers about prams, behaviour, smoking, fare payment, talking to the motorman, instructions or information to drivers etc. Yields information about the sign manufacture, demonstrates the type of signs provided in tramcars.Set of four Enamel signs, black capital letters and lines on white background, titled "Children's Carriages which fold compactly may be permitted on cars at conductors discretion and owner's risk". One of a number similar signs donated to the Ballarat Tramway Preservation Society by the SEC following closure of the Ballarat Tramways system in 1971. When the Philippine currency, or pesos, were reprinted in 1944, it was called the Victory series #66. The reason they named the series “66” was because that was the age late President Quezon passed away just after the liberation of Philippines. Philippine Victory notes (series 66) were printed by the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing. They were carried by US forces commanded by General MacArthur when they landed on Leyte Island on 20 October 1944. Philippines One peso denomination lithograph banknote. The face has a blue seal in the lower right side and on the left side is an image of a male.
