The foundations stone for "St Joseph's" school was laid 29/8/1906 and the school opened to students in April 1907. VFL Park did not have a formal public transport service and this was one reason for its demise. See the reference for its history. Public transport - buses were provided from a number of railway stations. This block of tickets - blue ink on off-white paper consisted of two hundred tickets - VFL Park - Concession - Single Journey - $1. Ticket number in red ink. The block was originally numbered 11800 to 12000. Five tickets remain on the block. See items 3, 1674 and 1675 for other examples. Space for an expiry date to be stamped on the ticket and name, address and school of the student. The 1969 Fare Schedule (Reg. Item 7041) shows these tickets. 1797.1 - $3.50, Scholar under 18 years, Ticket No. A 002701, form number TYE 3-580, issued to Denise Forster, of 424 Errard St, Mary's Mount school. Stamped with expiry date of "14 May 71". Under ticket number has been written number "2815", which could indicate a correction to the ticket number. 1797.2 - $2.50, Scholar under 15 years, Ticket No. A 006751, form number TYE 3-570, issued to Kerin Bolton, of 707 Barkly St, Sacred Heart school. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block of 200 tickets - brown ink on off white paper, denomination 18c, lettered A418400 to A418599, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. On rear in brown ink is a SEC advertisement "ELECTRICITY makes life easier" with the SEC's little boy wrapped in a towel logo. The 200 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket number is in black ink.
