The Ballarat Branch of the Harbour Lights Guild donated this procession cross in 1958 in memory of Miss Gertrude Lewers. Gertrude Norah Lewers (1873-1956) was the daughter of Samuel and Annie Lewers and died on 9 November 1956, aged 83 years. She lived in Iraquail, Linton, near Ballarat.
