The letters of the completed banner were made by different churches within in the presbytery and spelled a sentence, presumably "BUILD YOUR CHURCH LORD!" Orbost was one of the churches that had the finished banner on display. One of 24 small banners with tabs at the top of each for hanging on a rod. 19 have large blue letters appliqued on them. Twenty two of the banners are roughly square and two are smaller and oblong. Three have no letters and are used as spacers in the four word sentence that the letters make. Flyer (item) - Ngarrgee, 2020
Invitations sent to school community and running sheets for Ngarrgee events 2020- to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, Rosh Hashanah, and to welcome the new Year 12 leadership cohort, the Mazkirut. 'Ngarrgee' is a Wurundjeri word meaning 'coming together'. The school's RAP Committee advised in 2020: 'Following on from the very successful Welcome to Country smoking ceremony in 2019, which was appropriately aligned with Rosh Hashanah, we are continuing with this new tradition by hosting the same event on Tuesday 15 September at 8.00pm via the ZOOM platform. Adapting to current circumstances, the smoking ceremony will be led by Murrundindi, Ngurungaeta (Head Man) for the Wurundjeri clan, from his property in Healesville. This year, the event will also incorporate the Mazkirut Induction ceremony.' Please contact [email protected] to request access to this record. event, celebration, year 12, 2020s -

Slide, Robin Boyd, 1950
Penleigh Boyd, Robin and Patricia Boyd's son, writes “Prior to 1950 Robin, like most other amateur or hobby photographers, took black and white printed photographs. The oldest slides date from 1950 when Robin and Patricia travelled to Europe on Robin’s Robert Haddon Travelling Scholarship.” In 1948 Robin Boyd was awarded ‘joint first place’ in the Robert Haddon competition for his design of Mildura art gallery. The scholarship helped fund their first overseas trip. Robin and Patricia were passengers on the Greek ship “Cyrenia” departing in May 1950, passing through the Suez Canal and landing in Genoa five weeks later. For six months, they travelled extensively throughout Europe (predominantly driving themselves) - France, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.Colour slide in a mount. Melbourne Legacy
Slide, Stanhope Recreation Room, 1950s
Slide photograph of two girls playing table tennis in the recreation room. Believed in Stanhope from the label. Several photos are marked 4, 11, 12, 13, and were taken at the same time (see items 02513 - 02516) Stanhope was a residence run by Melbourne Legacy to take care of children whose fathers were deceased servicemen, and who may have been left orphans, or whose mother may have been unable to care for them herself, or they needed to stay in Melbourne for further education. Stanhope generally looked after girls over 14 either studying or working. The children were cared for until they were old enough to become independent. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves. In many cases the original images were not well focussed and the digital image is the best available.A record of life for the residents of Stanhope.Colour slide of two girls playing table tennis while two others watch at Stanhope, in a grey Hanimount mount.Handwritten on front 'Stanhope' in black pen.stanhope, residences, tabletennis -

Newsletter - Text, Out and About: RVIB Auxiliaries newsletters 2001 (September and December), 2001
RVIB Auxiliaries raised monies for the organisation at a grassroots level, via a variety of meetings, fundraisers and events. To keep them in touch with head office and to let branches what other branches were doing across the state, regular newsletters were sent out. In the September newsletter, the Rebecca Ryan concert was advertised, the closure of Rochester, Quambatook and Berwick is mentioned, as well the 70th anniversary of Korumburra and Leongatha, Portland, Traralgon and Winchelsea, a list of service badges and certificates and the passing of various members is also listed. For December, a temporary editor was appointed and a new design began to emerge. The Carols by Candlelight concert and changes to staffing at RVIB were the focus of this newsletter.29 pages of text and imagesroyal victorian institute for the blind, rebecca ryan, auxiliaries
