Bendigo Advertiser "The way we were" from Tuesday, February 1, 2005. wood merchant Eric Finch was in a spot of bother when this photo was taken in the late 1940s or early 1950s. Eric, pictured on the left was a general carrier and wood merchant and had to unload the wood from his truck before he could get it out of the bog. As if that didn't add insult to injury, the wood had previously been cut and loaded by hand, there were no chainsaws in those days.
