Speedway gave way to scrambles, and then tarmac racing on aerodromes, army bases and circuits. The Hume Weir circuit held the “King of the Weir” race for ten years attracting such riders as Ron Toombs, Greg Hansford, Murray and Jeff Sayle, and Kenny Blake.
