Note: Was supposed to have been printed on off white paper and with an orange fare instead of red.Block of 100 tickets, 1d, Ballarat Vintage Tramway, A00001 to A000100. Printed on white paper, dark red ink with the "1D" and A prefix and ticket number in black ink. Issued commencing 1 January 2011, to replace the 5c over stamped check ticket. A newspaper advertisement for the Marysville Theatre in Marysville in Victoria.A newspaper advertisement for the Marysville Theatre in Marysville in Victoria. The Marysville Theatre was located in Murchison Street. The building was originally built in 1932 by local builder Harold Cuzens for Jim Wallace. The solid concrete building was used as a Theatre from 1932 to 1970. The building was then purchased by The Darmody Family and was used as an Arts and Crafts Centre for two years from 1975. The building was then purchased by Norman and Rosemary Fiske in 1977 and converted into a restaurant called The Pumpernickel. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block with three remaining tickets - light brown ink on off white paper, denomination 3d, over stamped in black "Concession" numbered A 74197 - 99, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. Originally a block of 100 tickets been stapled onto a plain cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a off white coloured cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket price is in light brown ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. On rear in light brown ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. He served as an Anglican curate at St Stephen’s Church, Port Kembla (1941-42), and as an assistant at the Missions to Seamen, Sydney (1942). An honorary curate (1942-46) at St John’s Church, Rockdale, he married Beryl Ruth Knox, daughter of the rector, there on 3 October 1942. On 16 September he had been appointed as a temporary chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy, an event which he described as the determining factor in his future ministry. He served in HMAS Australia (1942-44) and in shore establishments before being demobilised in February 1946. In 1953 Craven-Sands joined the Missions to Seamen, Sydney, as senior chaplain, leading a team who worked for the spiritual and social welfare of seamen. This is an example of Melbourne Legacy promotional material that was issued to inform the public on the work of Legacy. One edition was included as a supplement in Mufti, (a veterans publication) in September 1982. The first edition featured Prince Phillip and the words he spoke during a telecast in 1980. Legatee Ken Green was the president. The edition in September 1982 had definitions of key words such as Legatee, Junior Legatee and an explanation of where money came from. It featured a photo of Alisa Watson of the Youth Leadership Group. Edition No 4 was from the Diamond Jubilee Year in 1983, it featured an article on Legatee Frank Doolan and the foundation of Legacy. It mentions a time capsule being placed in the Art Centre on 30 August 1983. See other items of marketing material from the 1990s to 2009 (items 01240 to 01258). Ephemera - Women’s Hospital identification pass issued to Dr Margaret Alison Mackie, 1942, 10 April 1942
This pass was issued to Dr Margaret Alison Mackie during her time as Medical Superintendent of the Royal Women's Hospital during the Second World War. Dr Margaret Alison Mackie (1910-1991) was in active practice between 1936 and 1970. She was a Fellow of the College, and was appointed a Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to medicine in 1975. Small cardboard identification pass. Cover of the pass is green. Front of pass is printed with the text 'GOVERNMENT/OF/VICTORIA'. Inside of pass has identification details for Dr Margaret Mackie, along with a passport photo of Dr Mackie. and attests to her employment at the Women's Hospital.
