The image was used in the early 1960s so 20 September was a Friday in 1963. The slides may have been used for a presentation to promote Badge Day which is held during Legacy Week. A second slide shows the Legacy symbol and same date. The slide was professionally prepared by the Central Screen Slide Service. Penleigh Boyd, Robin and Patricia Boyd's son, writes “Prior to 1950 Robin, like most other amateur or hobby photographers, took black and white printed photographs. The oldest slides date from 1950 when Robin and Patricia travelled to Europe on Robin’s Robert Haddon Travelling Scholarship.” In 1948 Robin Boyd was awarded ‘joint first place’ in the Robert Haddon competition for his design of Mildura art gallery. The scholarship helped fund their first overseas trip. Robin and Patricia were passengers on the Greek ship “Cyrenia” departing in May 1950, passing through the Suez Canal and landing in Genoa five weeks later. For six months, they travelled extensively throughout Europe (predominantly driving themselves) - France, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.Colour slide in a mount. Date unknown, mid 1960's.Set of two AGFA blue / white plastic mount, colour slides of a line up of trams in Wendouree Parade, on the south side of Gardens Loop during an enthusiasts tram tour. mid 1960's? .1 - 3 bogie cars (lead by 42) showing Special and a single truckers. Has a number of crews standing around. .2 - Similar photo, but with all the trolley poles turned around with the No. 21 at the rear. A group of people can be seen at the far end. Melbourne Legacy held an annual Christmas Party for Junior Legatees and Widows at Government House for many years. Junior Legatees were given gifts. Was with many other slides taken in the 1950s and 1960s. The slides have been photographed to make digital images and moved to archive quality sleeves. In 1964, Robin and Patricia Boyd spent several weeks on a world tour - Boyd took a leading role at the International Design Conference in Aspen and he also visited Chicago, Yale University, and New York’s World Fair.
