Robin Boyd was appointed Exhibits Architect for the Australian Pavilion at Expo ‘67 in Montreal. The garden outside the pavilion featured a sculptural pool, a coral display, animal pool, a pit for kangaroos and Eucalypts and other native plants. The indoor exhibits covered aspects of Australian art and culture, architecture, industrial design and scientific innovation, such as the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Power Scheme, the Parkes radio telescope, the design of Canberra, and the Australian way of life.Colour slide in a mount. In 1964, Robin and Patricia Boyd spent several weeks on a world tour - Boyd took a leading role at the International Design Conference in Aspen and he also visited Chicago, Yale University, and New York’s World Fair. Concerts were a fundraiser that the Association for the Advancement of the Blind first introduced in 1900, based upon the experiences of the RVIB concert tours that Tilly Aston had participated in whilst attending the school. Initially not as successful as hoped, they were re-introduced in 1911 and soon became a regular fundraiser for the fledgling organisation. Ephemera - Ticket/s, State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV), SEC 2d, 1940's?
Block of about 160 tickets - black ink on buff 60 gsm paper, denomination 2d (printed in red), numbered Cg040602 - Cg040799, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. Originally a block of 200 tickets been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple and a small cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket number is in black ink while the "Cg" prefix is in red. On the back of each ticket is a Bushells coffee advertisement. On each side various codes when clipped denoted the destination or section the ticket was validated for. Tickets Nos - 040620 - 35 and 43 - 51 have been torn out prior to collection. Each ticket in block has been stamped punched with a round hole to cancel it. Thought to be used prior to 1950's around the second world war. See Reg.
