Ephemera - Ticket/s, Ballarat Tramway Museum (BTM), BTPS 5d over stamped check ticket, 1974
Demonstrates the Museum's ticketing systems and ongoing production of tickets.Block of 200 tickets - light red ink on off white paper, original denomination 5c, lettered A 175000 to A 175199, headed Ballarat Tourist Tramway and over stamped "CHECK TICKET NO VALUE". The 200 tickets have been stapled onto a heavy cardboard back with a heavy metal staple. See also Reg. Item 2234 for over stamped 5c tickets using a different stamp. The tickets are in the style of the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria tramway tickets. Original block A100000 to A100200 added 30/6/2004 - from BTM archives., Note different stamped used on ticket. Tickets originally printed for general use on the trams 1974. Later over stamped for use on trams as check tickets for passengers travelling on special trams etc. Collected from stock 20/11/1992. See Fare structure of BTM/BTPStrams, tramways, btm, tickets -

Penleigh Boyd, Robin and Patricia Boyd's son, writes “Prior to 1950 Robin, like most other amateur or hobby photographers, took black and white printed photographs. The oldest slides date from 1950 when Robin and Patricia travelled to Europe on Robin’s Robert Haddon Travelling Scholarship.” In 1948 Robin Boyd was awarded ‘joint first place’ in the Robert Haddon competition for his design of Mildura art gallery. The scholarship helped fund their first overseas trip. Robin and Patricia were passengers on the Greek ship “Cyrenia” departing in May 1950, passing through the Suez Canal and landing in Genoa five weeks later. For six months, they travelled extensively throughout Europe (predominantly driving themselves) - France, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.Colour slide in a mount. In 1964, Robin and Patricia Boyd spent several weeks on a world tour - Boyd took a leading role at the International Design Conference in Aspen and he also visited Chicago, Yale University, and New York’s World Fair. The Boyds then travelled on to England, Finland (especially to see Tapiola), Russia and India to see Le Corbusier's Chandigarh, and also Hong Kong and Thailand.Colour slide in a mount. Agfa plastic mount (blue base, white cover) of a photograph of No. 26 at City terminus, inbound. Tram is in the process of being fitted with dash canopy lights and tiger strips and White Horse Whiskey advertisement on the back dash panel. Tram has destination of Sturt St. West on rear of tram which is probably where it came from. Has a crewman talking to two ladies standing between the seats at the City Terminus and the tram. Has Post Office and ANZ bank in the background. Photo taken early 1961. Slide rescanned at 3200 dpi 24-10-2020, jpg replaced, tiff file retained. Happy New Year Greeting Card: Rectangular shaped embossed card with green Ivy around the outer edge and scattered in the middle with Blue Forget Me Not flower and lace band diagonally across the middle. At one end the card is held with a cream cotton cord and bow. All Good Wishes is printed on the front. Inside printed in gold is 'With Heartiest Good Wishes for a Right Happy New Year''. An advertising brochure for Bruno's Art and Sculptures Garden in Marysville in Victoria.An advertising brochure for Bruno's Art and Sculpture Gardens in Marysville in Victoria. Bruno's Sculptures Garden is one of Marysville's popular attractions. There is a sculpture garden as well as a gallery of artworks. Both the garden and gallery were destroyed during the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. Some of the sculptures were totally destroyed though a few did survive the fires.
