Marysville Ski Centre is a family-owned business, which has been operated by Nat and Beryl Morandi since 1981. The business started from very humble beginnings hiring toboggans at Lake Mountain initially from the back of a Bedford Van, and then upgraded to a rickety old shed with the addition of ski equipment for hire. In 1983, Marysville Ski Centre commenced business in its current position in Marysville. Then this building was destroyed, along with most of the buildings in Marysville, during the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. WWII Fuel Ration 2 Gallon Tickets: 9 Tickets of cream card with brown and blue print rectangular in shape with perforated edges. The back ground is a wall paper of small oval shapes with "Motor Spirit" printed in brown ink. Over top is "Commonwealth Liquid Fuel Control Board". In the centre, "Motor Spirit two 2 Gals not transferable Ration Ticket. Department of supply & Development. Issued Under National Security Act. 1939-40". Over top again in blue ink is covered in small lines and the words "Consumer must endorse this ticket on the back with signature and Licence number". On the back hand written in black ink is "G. Ephemera - Council election advertising pamplets, Alec Craig, 1966
Alec Craig was elected to the Barkly Ward seat on the Bendigo City Council in March 1954 after the resignation of Cr J A Michelsen. He became Mayor in 1956 and served from 1956 -57, 1963 - 64 and 1973 -74. Councillor Craig first posited the idea of Hargreaves Street becoming a shopping mall but retired from council in 1976 before the idea was executed. Alec Craig was the foundation President of the Provincial cities and Town Association of Victoria and President of the Bendigo Base Hospital in 1973. He was awarded an O.B.E. in 1973 for outstanding public service. Grace Adeline Craig was a respected teacher at Bendigo Girl's School and Bendigo High School.0383.1 Three fold voting pamphlet with photo of Councillor Craig on front cover. Text from card: 'On the night of 24th April 1918, the Australians made a daring and clever counter attack in the darkness, recaptured Villers-Bretonneux, stopped the German advance and saved Armiens. This, and the Battle of Hamei, were only a prelude to the smashing advance which commenced on 8th August.' Contains illustrations of 'Australians Advancing from Villers-Bretonneux, August 8th 1918' from an original painted by AIF War Artist Captain Will Longstaff; 'Capture of Hamei Village, July 14th 1918, by Australians assisted by a Detachment of Americans' by War Artist A Pearse. Both paintings were made for the Australian Comforts Fund. The Australian Comforts Fund was an umbrella organisation for voluntary bodies set up on 24 August 1916, after the outbreak of World War I. It was dissolved on 16 April 1920 but was re-established in 1940, during World War II and dissolved again in 1946. Card made in England by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd, publishers to the King and Queen. Set of two The Met, Zones 1 and 2 Weekly Adult tickets, light card. .1 - Weekly adult, card divided in to two colours, yellow and blue, No. A417355, not valid after stamp of 15 June 1992, has the Springvale 1816 station stamp on the rear. .2 - Weekly Adult concession, as above but with a white slash or stripe left to right on the card, A249098, not valid after stamp of 19 Apr 1994.Has the Sandown Park 1818 Station stamp on the right hand end of the ticket face. On the rear are the conditions of travel for both types of tickets with information about the ticket type, The Met logos, Transport Information and Transit Patrol telephone numbers.
