In 1941, a play in South Yarra was a fundraising opportunity for the Mission during wartime. Daryl Lindsay designed the programme of the evening. He was the Curator of the National Gallery of Victoria at the time. This old miners shovel was found in the late 1980'8 or early 1990's in one of the underground Horse Stables in the abandoned workings of the old Magdala Mine.
