An early Alistair Knox design and build, this home was purchased by George Coop in 1968. Eltham builder, Graham Rose, extended the original Alistair Knox structure over the foundation excavation dug by George. Graham organised the brick walls where required, raised all frame work and laid the steel tray roof. George did all external/internal wall cladding, made all opening windows, sliding and swinging doors, stairs and general interior timber cabinet work. Bedroom wardrobe doors came from scrapped Victorian Railways country coaches. Tablets.The Diggers Water Bottle had to be completly emptied then refilled with the water available, then the tablets added after crushing according to the instructions inside the lid. This enabled the Digger to drink his water in the surity that he would not pick up a problem from the contaminated water that may have been his only liquid available. These tablets have been produced by science to keep the diggers in top fighting condition. Thought to be the chains used for the Henty's bullock harness. The Henty family are known as Victoria's earliest European settlers and pastoralists, emigrant squatters who played a defining role in the establishment of Portland and the development of the region's wool trade. Facing challenges as a farmer in early 19th-century England, West Sussex grazier Thomas Henty (1775–1839) turned his sights south to the colonies, where he believed his seven sons would have a brighter future as sheep breeders and wool producers.
