Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented at the commencement of the SEC fare system. Generally issued c1966 following decimal currency, not formally used.Group of four different decimal values of used SEC Ballarat Tickets, ex the Wal Jack Collection. Tickets already held on the BTM system in blocks. All except .1, which has a tartan or criss cross back have the little boy SEC logo and "Electricity makes life easier" slogan. .1 - 6c Teal - A798874 & 5 - note the same as Reg Item 1717 .2 - 10c black - C456602 & 3 - note the same as Reg Item 1720 .3 - 15c brown - A518600 & 1- note the same as Reg Item 1717 .4 - 5c yellow - B724605, 6, 7 & 9 - note the same as Reg Item 1716 All tickets and Reg Item 4006, 4007, 4009 to 4018 were received originally in a folded cloth wrapper - wax canvas? - see Reg item 4009 trams, tramways, secv, ticket -

Badge - Employees Pass badge No. 225, AMOR, c1940
Used as a SEC tramways employees pass. Demonstrates the badge used by the SEC for free travel on the trams.Stamped enameled round brass piece with an area of solder on the rear indicating where a retaining ring had been placed after the original ring at the top has been broken off. Has the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamelled and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways". This was in blue enamel. Functional Object - Cap Badge, Stokes & Sons Melbourne, "Motorman", 1905?
Demonstrates the detail of the uniform of tramway/motorman workers.1940 - Cap Badge for a "Motorman". Made from a cast brass item, nickel plated to indicate the position held by the wearer on their cap as part of their uniform. Cast in the form of the handwritten or script word/s and underlined. On the rear, silver soldered on are two brass loops at either of the badge to enable it to be sewn or fitted with clips onto the cap. On the back of the back of the badge in very small letters is the name of the manufacturer - Stokes & Sons / Melbourne. Same manufacturers logo as in Reg Item 1937. Part of the ESCo company and possibly early SEC uniform. ESCo employee number on a special lapel bade - see Reg. item 1952. Not used by the SEC from 1940 - employee number on the cap but early SEC uniforms show them on the collar of the jacked - not known if this uniform adopted. See Reg. Item 1368 for photos of early SEC uniform showing badge on the neck. Assumed collected by Les Denmead from materials left over from the ESCo era in the SEC offices. 1940.1 - Item - as above, with "Stokes & Sons" stamped into metal on rear of badge. Item ex SEC.
