Produced by Camberwell depot staff to mark the 80th anniversary of the depot - 1929 to 2009. Has the letter of the depot printed on the front of the depot. Metal badge has the name of the depot as well as "V" and "80". On the inside of the card explains the basis of the depots timetable or run number letter V, because it was located in the Vee formed by Riversdale and Camberwell Roads. The second card notes that the depot is not in Camberwell but Hawthorn East and that there are no numbers on the rear wall after a tram crashed through it in the early 1970s. Agfa Colour slide, cardboard, during 1964 at the time of the AETA Convention by Keith Caldwell of W2 219 parked in the yard at Camberwell depot showing the destination of Burwood, and route 77. The tram shelter at Riversdale Road is shown behind the tram. A very similar image was taken by Dale Budd at the same time and used on the front cover of Bellcord, September 2019 issue who advised in an email of 9/9/2019 that "Re the photo of 219, it is likely Keith was standing alongside me. The picture was taken during the 1964 AETA convention and I think many of the attendees were together when that photo was taken." Run number plates used for the vehicle identification system used in the AVM. Item was pushed into a slot of a reader which then recognised the identification through the series of holes on the left hand side. Fitted with metal strips, riveted on, to enable the card to be slotted into the holder by the crew member and then withdrawn when not required. Understood that the tram carried one of these at one end and then another without the holes at the other end. Number has been engraved into the plastic sheet and then painted in black. Used to identify the depot and "run number" or timetable that the tram was running on, two in each tram, to enable monitoring by inspectors and crews. Born in Avoch Scotland, was a police constable there, before emigrating to Melbourne. Was a cable tram Gripman in the Albert Park Area. Became an electric tram driver, then signalman at St Kilda Junction and trained as an inspector, but did not like the green uniform. Ran in the Stawell Gift of 1925 (injured foot during the race), was a Navigator on Transport RAF/RAAF flights during WW2. War memorabilia to the War Memorial Canberra.
