The contents inside delve into many subjects such as the American Indians and many other school subjects at the time. Inside front cover has the name M. J. Martin, "Fermanagh", Pompapiel, via Dingee. 1942 from February 2 up to December 1 for grades VII VIII. 1943 from February 1 to June 1, August 2 untill November 1. (20 copies in all). The Kyeema airline crash took place on 25 October 1938 when the Australian National Airways Douglas DC-2 Kyeema, tail number VH-UYC, flying from Adelaide to Melbourne, commenced final approach to Essendon Airport through heavy fog and crashed into the western slopes of Mount Dandenong, killing all 18 on board instantly. There is strong evidence that the pilots were becoming unsure of their position. According to Macarthur Job's book, Disaster in the Dandenongs, the radio operator had requested the controller at Essendon give them a radio bearing. Essendon had acknowledged and told them to leave their transmitter on, but the signal stopped and no further contact was made. It is thought that this is the moment that Kyeema hit the mountain. There were 18 people on board the DC-2: 14 passengers, the captain, the first officer, an air hostess, and a cadet pilot who operated the radio during the flight. The victims were :— THE CREW. All three photos are of the Ballarat City Band preforming at the 1921 South Street Competitions. Frank Wright is the Bandmaster and conductor for the B grade competition and .1- for the "A grade" test piece the conductor was Bert Baile. Bob Pattie of the Ballarat Brass Band believes the Ballarat City Band with Frank Wright as Conductor travelled to Queensland to take part in a contest up there. This is supposed to be the very first time that a Victorian Band had gone to Queensland to take part in a contest. "Frank Wright is actually marching with his band. That's him near the side drummer. He has a bow tie on and dinner suit. Note the dog: In those days you couldn't keep a dog away from the Band Contest ... everyone in town was there!
