The City of Brighton Mayoral robe features embroidered Coat of Arms on the sleeves, which were granted in 1970 by the British College of Heraldry. It includes two figures, the market gardener heralding back to Brighton’s early history in farming, and an aboriginal man, symbolising the original inhabitants of the area, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation.
