Clothing - AILEEN AND JOHN ELLISON COLLECTION: WEDDING VEIL, 1949
... COSTUME Female ceremonial Wedding Veil Clothing. Tulle veil ...Clothing. Tulle veil, with a scalloped edge, outlined with chain stitch silk embroidery. The four corners have elaborate silk, chain-stitch embroidery in a floral design. Petals of two large flowers in each corner are appliquéd silk, also outlined with the chain-stitch embroidery. From a photo supplied by the donor, it would appear that this veil was worn around the shoulders, and extending to the hipline. A very long veil was then worn over the top, and seems to be a similar length as the wedding gown train. (This veil is not in the donation to BHS).costume, female ceremonial, wedding veil -
