One of several Dandenong Creek marker posts inscriptions: "Busch's Weir was located at this section of the creek between 1930s to 1960s. In the 1930s, German migrant Hermann Otto Busch and his wife Dorothea moved to Bayswater and opened the Waldheim Farm Guest House. Busch built a concrete weir to create a popular swimming and fishing destination. The weir was a thriving attraction until the 1960s. Although little remains, it is fondly remembered by the Heathmont community. City dwellers would retreat to the guesthouse and wander down to Dandenong Creek to enjoy a weekend in the 'country'. Busch's guest house, tea rooms, and weir attracted locals and tourists alike."A private weir on Dandenong Creek Bayswater and Heathmont, 1930s-1967. Then origin/meaning of the blazon is as follows: The shield portrays from base to chief the development of Dandenong, since its beginning about 1865. The red gum forests used to cover the area, and when cleared cattle were raised. In the modern era the city is known for its variety of modern industrial plants, represented by the gear wheels. The rising sun in the crest suggests that this phenomenal rise is only just a a beginning of Dandenong's develpment. The lyre alludes to the annual three-week Dandenong festival of Arts and Music. The value of horses in the pioneering days, when Dandenong was the 'Gateway to Gippsland Victoria' is recalled in the two supporters, which also refer to the importance of the weekly horse sales in the modern era.Crest in the centre of the plate with the latin phrase VIRTUTE ET OPERA. Under the crest is the centenary 1873 - 1973.

The sketch of the Pig & Whistle would be pre1968 as the gate was remodeled with two white half gates at this time and the ivy removed. The building was purchased in 1968 by the Benash family and renovated inside and out with a white, Tudor style outer facade. It was renamed Tatra Hut. The restaurant was sold again c1975 and became a Reception Centre. This information was provided by Victor Grotaers who was the resident solo-accordionist in 1968 when the new Tatra Hut opened. He recalls the opening night as being a large affair reported by Channel 9 at the time.Copy of a pencil sketch of 'The Pig & Whistle' restaurant at Mt Dandenong.
