Anna Woods, 1848-1920, was a daughter of James Burns Woods and his wife Anna, née Coates. The Woods family migrated to Victoria in 1864. In 1974, Anna married Ewen Rankin, who held land adjoining her father's property near Linton. Ewen and Anna build a house which they called 'Glenree'. Anna and Ewen Rankin had eight children - Catherine (Kate), James, John, Anna, Mary, Lucy, William (Bill) and Ewen. The 1920 Club agreed to have a working bee at Wanliss House to remove fittings for sale from the house before it was demolished. This program was found down behind the mantle of one of the fireplaces. Eliza Cameron, a daughter of Ewen and Marion Cameron, was born at Linton in 1869. Agnes Bell (1824-1924) from a pioneer Kangaroo Ground family, married Scotsman Ewen Hugh Cameron (1831-1915). In 1863 he took up the 100 acre farm “Pigeon Bank” at Kangaroo Ground where the family lived. In 1874 Cameron was elected as the Member for Evelyn in the Victorian Legislative Assembly and held the seat until he retired in 1914 as “Father of the House”. Agnes and Ewen had eight sons and three daughters. Home built prior to 1860 for Francis Rogerson and later owned by Ewen Cameron who was the local Parliamentarian. In 1971 it was home of Mr. and Mrs. Menzies Jackson. The home is listed on the Victorian Heritage Database. Duncan Cameron, the second son of Ewen and Marion Cameron, was born in 1856 at Ashby and died at Linton in 1936. He worked as a stonemason, and was an active member of the Old Lintonians' Association. in 1922 Kergunyah Park homestead was built by David Wallace in the late 1800's and remained in the family until the sale in 1922 when it was bought by John Woodside (grandfather of Ewen Wallace) whose family retained it until 1938. Another family named Wallace bought the property in 1938 and this family's descendants are still running it in 2005.David and Henrietta Wallace purchased the original holding and built Kergunyah Park homestead in the late 1800's running cattle on the property. They arrived in Australia in 1867 with their 3 children and were early settlers in the district. Their descendants still live in the district. Their family demonstrates how properties were passed on to the next generation.
